Conforzi

Igino Conforzi is well known in the field of early music. Pioneer in the historical use of the trumpet, it combines concert activity, research and teaching. He founded Tibicines, a unique consort of “pifferi" and “trombetti", reconstructing a forgotten repertoire of the 16th and 17th centuries. His recordings, Girolamo Fantini (1993), Tra sacro e profano (2001), Battalia! (2005) and HAoTaT (2009), have met unanimously favoured by scholars and international critics. Among the critical editions stand out the Modo per imparare a suonare di Tromba by Girolamo Fantini (1638) and La Banda by Alessandro Vessella (1935). For teaching purposes he published 100 buzzing exercises (1997) and Short Long Steps (Voll. I-VI, 2020-2022). He teaches at the Conservatorio “G. B. Martini“ in Bologna.
